Kwandao

The Kwandao or Dadao weapon form was practiced by Chen Wangting, the originator of Taijiquan. The routine is described as intrepid, powerful, rich and effective. It can be divided into four sections amounting to 30 movements. The form is often simply called the “da dao” (“big saber”) form, but is alternately know as “chun qiu da dao” (“Spring and Autumn Halberd”) and qing long yan yue dao (“Halberd of the Green-blue Dragon that Veils the Moon”).
