We are back in Xi’an for our last couple of days of this trip. It’s really hot, 106 today, and we made an early shopping run this morning, hoping to avoid the big heat of the midday.

We arrived yesterday at Louguantai, where we will spend the next 3 days studying Taoism at the monastery. 

Yesterday we visited Huashan, one of the Taoist holy mountains in Shanxi province. Getting there felt like an ancient pilgrimage set in modern times. 

We are starting our penultimate day here in Chenjiagou. I think my first trip here was in 2005, and my, how things have changed in those 11 years. 

The village is hopping! So much going on – the tournament, our seminar, construction that includes renovation and new building, and the usual hum of village life.

The trip to China is several layers deep. There is the duration of time that passes on planes, in airports, on buses. We left for the San Diego at 5:30pm Friday, and arrived at our Zhengzhou hotel at 11pm Saturday night San Diego time.

The Taoist Sanctuary welcomed Grandmaster Chen Xiaoxing to San Diego this past week. He taught seminars on Laojia Yilu, Xinjia Yilu and reeling silk.
