Join Bill Helm, ABT, AOBTA Certified Instructor and travel to the Shanghai College of TCM to study Tuina for 2 weeks in a hospital setting.
Studying Tuina in China is a unique experience. Being immersed in the culture and surroundings, where traditional Chinese medicine originated, enriches and inspires new and experienced practitioners alike.
Each day in Shanghai will begin with Qi Gong practice led by Bill Helm. Taijiquan practice will be optional after the Qi Gong. Following breakfast, training will commence at the famous Yueyang Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Mornings will be spent working in the clinic, and afternoons will be spent in the classroom receiving lectures on facial rejuvenation and specialized diabetes treatments. Training and practice conclude by 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, leaving time to rest and explore Shanghai, China's largest and most modern city.
On the middle weekend the group will travel to Suzhou for an overnight stay in the "Venice of China". Canals, beautiful gardens and ancient temples make Suzhou one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in China
There will be additional time at the conclusion of the training to see any other sights in Shanghai and for last minute shopping. We will return to the United States on April 28th. Additional travel in China can be arranged for you.

Testimonials from past participants:
"If you include Tuina in your massage practice, this
trip is a must! The learning experiences I had in
Shanghi (both in and out of the classroom) cannot be
matched anywhere. There is no substitute for
practicing in the hospital each day with Masters of
the profession and then experiencing the China that
tourists will not see. My faith in the work and my
practice have grown immensely."
Tracie Livermore"The Tui Na 2006 trip was my first time visiting China. The trip was well organized. From transportation, to meals, to entertainment, to exploring in our free time, we had the resources available to us to have a fun and safe trip.
We studied at the Tui Na Hospital for two weeks, (beginning with Tai Chi/ Gi Gong every morning of course.) Our group of students varied with the degree of experience in Tui Na. We were placed in groups according to our levels. Each day we had the opportunity to work with different doctors in different locations of the hospital. By the end of the first week patients were requesting that we work on them! All the doctors were very helpful in teaching us and humoring us.
A few of us extended our trip to Beijing for five days after our schooling was complete. We traveled on an overnight train from Shanghai to Beijing on one of the busiest days of the year in China: Labor Day. This is where people from all over China would visit the capital. Besides seeing the Great Wall and the Summer Palace, (which were amazing to say the least) seeing the other side of China, the people from the countryside was priceless. People dressed differently and the family unit was greater than three. Another surprise was that many children came up to us and wanted their picture taken with us. I think I can speak for the group and say that we were all very humbled by our experiences in China. Thanks Bill!"
